Reflection 2/23/22

Today in Mr. Rease’s class we continued the multiple choice thing we were doing yesterday. It reminded me of the lesson we did sometime last semester. The passage we read was about school funding in different areas. We also learned about footnotes and what the deferent parts of them mean. It will probably help me on the AP Exam since I did not know how to read a footnote prior to the lesson. We will probably continue the same thing tomorrow.

Reflection 2/22/22

Today in Mr. Rease’s class we reviewed techniques to use on the test. The first technique was for multiple choice questions. We split into groups and described characters from “Fences.” We picked the choices from each group and chose which one was the best answer. Next, we had to read a passage in less than 3 minutes. I do not really understand the big picture behind what Mr. Rease was trying to show us, probably because we ran out of time. We will probably continue it tomorrow.

Reflection 2/15/22

I missed like the first half of Mr. Rease’s class. When I came in, the class was talking about the warmup. I can not remember what I thought it was about. It was something about black people though. Next we continued to read fences. There is not much to say about it. Maybe the plot will accelerate a lot more tomorrow.

Reflection 2/14/22

Today in Mr. Rease’s class we read a book titled “Fences.” It was a play and Mr. Tease assigned different characters to different people. I did not get to play a character. The play seemed pretty interesting. It was about black people. Maybe I’ll get to be a character tomorrow.

Reflection 2/8/22

Today in Mr. Rease’s class we looked over the rubric for the essay on the AP exam. We also looked at two essays. One of them was a two and the other a six. There is not much to say since that is pretty much all we did. It helps that I know exactly what I need to pass. We cut the class short and just did anything for the last thirty minutes.

Reflection 2/7/22

Today in class we went over steps to right a good rhetorical analysis. We analyzed a eulogy by Margaret Thatcher about Ronald Reagan. Mr. Reader taught us how the formula for writing a good rhetorical analysis essay. The formula was pretty much the same as the one we had for the other essays. He wrote an example of a body paragraph to demonstrate what a good one looks like. He also did that with the entire essay. Tomorrow he is going to show us what bad essays look like.

Today in Mr. Rease’s class we analyzed the poem “Dear Basketball” by Kobe Bryant and we analyzed the rhetorical strategies he used to convey his love for basketball.

Reflection 2/2/22

I do not think Mr. Tease got to finish his lesson plan for today. The class spent a good amount of time in an argument that came from the bell ringer. The bell ringer was about black history month and how we felt about it. I wonder if other periods argued about it. The main assignment was analyzing a poem. I think it was about how black people were losing their history. We did not get to the chart, and just analyzed the poem. I am not sure if we will continue the same topic tomorrow.
