Reflection 8/27/21

 Today in Mr. Rease’s class we learned how to write a body paragraph for an argumentative essay. The example we used was a court case about a man that murdered his friend. Mr. Rease showed us the evidence and how it is important to tie the evidence back to the claim. Without tying the evidence to the claim, the defendant would have been found innocent by the judge, even though he committed a heinous crime. We also used two prompts as an example for a body paragraph. We found evidence and counterclaims that we would use in the body paragraphs if we were writing an argumentative essay. I feel like we are going to have to write an essay soon, which I am dreading. I probably would not do bad on it. I just dislike writing essays.

Reflection 9/30/21

 Today in Mr. Rease’s class we continued to work on our projects. We had to think of a topic to make a prompt. Mr. Rease said all the groups were going to switch prompts when we finished. No one in the class expected that. It is somewhat annoying though, since we have to do research and stuff just to switch topics. I think my group received the best topic, but hopefully we can get the second best after groups switch topics. Our group will probably still do good on the project, regardless of the topic we have.

Reflection 2/7/22

 Today in class we went over steps to right a good rhetorical analysis. We analyzed a eulogy by Margaret Thatcher about Ronald Reagan. Mr. Reader taught us how the formula for writing a good rhetorical analysis essay. The formula was pretty much the same as the one we had for the other essays. He wrote an example of a body paragraph to demonstrate what a good one looks like. He also did that with the entire essay. Tomorrow he is going to show us what bad essays look like.
